                       AS THE RAKESH SHARMA TOOK  OFF FOR SPACE. AT THE SAME TIME HE CREATED A NEW HISTORY AND STAYING FOR 8 DAYS IN THE SPCAE ON 11 APRIL HE LANDED IN KHAJAKASTAN HE IS AN INSPIRATION FOR EVERY INDIAN TODAY. TODAY WE ARE GOING TO TELL SOME INTERESTING FACTS OF HIS LIFE. RAKESH SHARMA WAS THE HERO OF U.S.S.R.AND THE PILOT OF INDIAN AIR FORCE. WHO FLEW SOYUZ-T 11 UNDER THE INTER COSMOS PROGRAM ON 3RD OF APRIL 1984 HE BECAME THE FIRST INDIAN WHO TRAVELLED INTO SPACE. 13TH JANUARY 1949 HE TOOK BIRTH IN PATIYALA DISTRICT OF PUNJAB STATE OF INDIA. HE COMPLETED HIS PRIMARY EDUCATION FROM ST. GORGEOUS GRAMMAR SCHOOL HYDERABAD. GRADUATED FROM NIZAM COLLEGE HYDERABAD. HE TOOK ADMISSION IN NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY AS A TEST PILOT IN AIR FORCE WING OF INDIA IN 1970 HE HAD FLOWN IN CO-AIR CRAFT IN 1971 HE SHOWED HIS ABILITY AS A FIGHTER PILOT IN INDIA-PAK(BANGLADESH) 1971 WAR. SEEING HIS ABILITY HE WAS APPOINTED AS A SQUADRON LEADER AND PILOT. 

              ON 12TH SEPTEMBER 1982 HE BECAME THE MEMBER OF TEAM WHO WAS ABOUT TO GO TO SPACE UNDER THE SOVIET COSMOS AND ISRO'S PROGRAM HE RETIRED FROM THE POST OF WING COMMANDER IN 1987 HE JOINED HINDUSTAN AERONAUTICS LTD. AND HE SERVED UPTO 1992 AS CHIEF TEST PILOT IN NASHIK DIVISION OF HINDUSTAN AERONAUTICS LTD. AND HE HAD BEEN TRANSFERRED TO BENGALURU AS CHIEF TEST PILOT OF "HAL". HE WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE LIGHT COMBAT AIRCRAFT "TEJAS". HE BECAME THE FIRST INDIAN WHO TRAVELLED TO SPACE IN 1984. HE FLEW WITH SOYUZ T-11 OF WHICH WAS A SOVIET ROCKET WHICH WAS LAUNCHED ON 2ND APRIL 1984 FROM BOKONUR COSMEDRO OF KHAJAKASTAN HE STAYED IN THE SPACE  FOR  7 DAYS 21 HOUR & 40 MINUTES. IN BETWEEN HE DID SO MANY SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENTS THERE. IN WHICH 43 EXPERIMENTAL SESSIONS ARE INCLUDED. HE MOSTLY WORKED IN BIO-MEDICINES AND REMOTE SENSING  AREA. HIS CREW DID A CONFERENCE WITH MOSCOW OFFICIAL FIRST AND THEN WITH THEN INDIAN PRIME MINISTER SMT.INDIRA GANDHI. WHEN INDIRA GANDHI ASKED TO RAKESH SHARMA THAT HOW DOES OUR INDIA LOOKS FROM THE SPACE? THEN RAKESH SHARMA REPLIED "SAARE JAHAN SE ACHCHA" MEANS BEST OF ALL WORLD. THAT TIME INDIA BECAME 14TH COUNTRY WHOSE PERSON TRAVELLED TO SPACE. 

                                     


          

              AFTER RETURNING FROM THE SPACE THE GOVERNMENT OF SOVIET UNION AWARDED RAKESH SHARMA FROM THE TITLE OF "HERO OF SOVIET UNION". INDIAN GOVT. ALSO AWARDED RAKESH SHARMA FROM THE "ASHOK CHAKRA" WHICH IS SECOND HIGHEST AWARD DURING PEACE. ASHOK CHAKRA WAS GIVEN TO MALAYSHIV AND TO THE SPECKLOVE WHO WENT ALONG WITH THE RAKESH SHARMA. WHEN RAKESH SHARMA WAS LIVING IN THE RUSSIA FOR THE TRAINING HE AND HIS WIFE LEARNT RUSSIAN LANGUAGE. HE HAS A SON KAPIL SHARMA. WHO IS FILM DIRECTOR AND HIS DAUGHTER KRITIKA IS MEDIA ARTIST. HE WAS THE FIRST PERSON WHO feeds THE RUSSIANS INDIAN FOOD DEFENCE FOOD RESEARCH LABORATORY GAVE SEMOLINA  HALVA POTATO CHOLE AND PULAO TO MR.SHARMA. HE USED TO DO YOGA TO PROTECT HIMSELF FROM SPACE GENERATED DISEASES. IN 1984 HE STARTED PRACTICE OF ZERO GRAVITY YOGA. AND ROCOSMOS APPRECIATED HIS EFFORTS IN THIS. IN 2009'S PRESS CONFERENCE HE SUGGESTED TO ALL ASTRONAUTS THAT THEY SHOULD PRACTICE YOGA TO BE FIT FROM SPACE ORIENTED DISEASES. WHEN HE WAS AWARDED THE THEN TWO OF HIS RUSSIAN COLLEAGUES WERE REWARDED WITH THE SAME. 

               THIS WAS THE FIRST AND LAST CHANCE WHEN A FOREIGNER AWARDED WITH "ASHOK CHAKRA" IN 2014 AT THE AGE OF 656 YEARS RAKESH SHARMA WANTED ONE MORE CHANCE TO GO BACK TO SPACE. AT THIS STAGE OF THE AGE HIS MOTIVATION WAS NOT OVER HE WANTED TO GO TO BACK TO SPACE. HE HAD A DREAM OF FLYING JET PLANE SINCE HE WAS 5 YEARS OLD. WHEN HE GOT YOUNG HIS DREAM CAME TRUE. HE HAD NEVER THOUGHT THAT HIS JOURNEY WILL GO THROUGH AIR FORCE TO SPACE. REMEMBERING HIS DREAM ONCE HE SAID THAT I HAD ALWAYS DREAMT TO BE A PILOT. AND WHEN I BECAME A PLIOT THOUGHT THAT MY DREAM CAME TRUE. ON BEHALF OF HIS HARD WORK HE COMPLETED HIS 8 DAYS JOURNEY OF SPACE. AND PROVED TO the WHOLE WORLD THAT IF U HAVE A STRONG DESIRE THEN NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE HE IS NOT LESS THAN THE KOHINOOR DIAMOND FOR INDIA. INDIAN WILL ALWAYS KEEP REMEMBERING HIS VALUABLE EFFORTS FOREVER.
